Hey there, I'm Marah.

I've always been drawn to helping people feel seen and heard. I believe that when someone truly listens, it can change everything.

During my undergraduate years at Luther College, I studied social work and dance, which led me to an important realization: healing isn't one-size-fits-all. Different people need different approaches, and the most effective therapy meets each person exactly where they are. That insight shaped how I practice. While traditional talk therapy is valuable and works well for many people, I also draw from other evidence-based approaches—including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and somatic therapy.

After working as a therapist in Oregon, I returned to the Driftless region. This place is home to me. I love the communities here, the landscape, and the people who care deeply about making the world better. I believe that when individuals are healthy, communities are healthy—and I want to be part of that.

Here's how I work: I'm a deeply empathetic person who forms real connections with my clients. I show up as my genuine self—curious, present, and committed to our work together. If you're looking for someone who will truly see you and meet you where you are, that's what I offer.

I tailor every session to what you need. Some people process their experiences best through talking. Others benefit from approaches that are more active and experiential. Most people need a combination. My job isn't to decide what type of therapy you need—it's to figure out together what will help you move forward.

We might talk things through. We might work on understanding how past experiences are showing up in your present. We might use specific techniques to process difficult experiences. Whatever makes sense for you, that's what we'll do.

You deserve more than just getting through each day. You deserve to trust yourself, feel at peace, and experience the life you want.

I'm here to help you get there.
