Different challenges require different tools. I draw from multiple evidence-based approaches to meet your specific needs. Together, we'll figure out what works best for you.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an evidence-based therapy used to process traumatic memories and distressing experiences. It uses bilateral stimulation—through eye movements, tones, or tapping—to help the nervous system reprocess difficult material in a way that reduces its emotional impact. One of the benefits of EMDR is that you don't need to share all the details of what happened with me. As long as you know what you're working on, that's what matters. I specialize in attachment-focused EMDR, which addresses how early relationships shape the way you relate to yourself and others today.
IFS
Internal Family Systems is an approach that recognizes we all have different “parts” or aspects of ourselves that sometimes conflict with each other. You might notice one part of you wants to speak up while another part stays quiet. Or one part feels angry while another feels guilty about that anger.
IFS helps you understand these inner conflicts and work with all parts of yourself with curiosity and compassion. We might use talk therapy, visualization, or integrate EMDR with IFS to help you move forward. This approach can be especially helpful if you struggle with conflicting motivations, self-criticism, or feeling “stuck between” different choices.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy recognizes that our experiences live in our bodies, not just our minds. When we've been through difficult experiences, our nervous system can stay activated—showing up as tension, anxiety, or feeling disconnected from yourself.
Somatic approaches help you tune into what your body is communicating and work with your nervous system to find regulation and calm. This might include breathwork, body awareness practices, or movement—all tailored to what feels comfortable for you.
These approaches aren't for everyone, and we'll only incorporate them if they make sense for your goals and comfort level.
